RAMM's collection of archaeological objects from the city of Exeter cover 70 years of excavations. They include finds from the Roman fortress and town, the important medieval Cathedral city, and the prosperous Tudor city.

 

 

Highlights of the collection include:

Finds from the Roman legionary bath-house. Fragments from the earliest stone building built in Devon, including fragments of the earliest coloured mosaics in Britain.

A large and important collection of medieval and post-medieval pottery, excavated from household rubbish pits in the city.
