Lecture and Lunch: Elegance
Shelley Tobin, Costume Curator for the National Trust at Killerton House and Assistant Curator of Costume at RAMM, will explore ideas related to the exhibition: What is elegance? Why do we still revere the style of fashion leaders of the past? How has individual taste and etiquette influenced mainstream fashion? She will also present a snapshot of elegant fashion icons of the past 300 years. The talk will be followed by a delicious lunch.
This talk is linked to the exhibition, Elegance - two hundred years of dressing to impress, which can be enjoyed at Killerton from 10 March to 31 October 2010.
