Mayor launches A History of the World

28 July 2010

Frances Carey from the British Museum joined Exeter’s Lord Mayor, Marcel Choules, for the launch of A History of the World in 10 Objects: ten choice objects from the museum’s collections with compelling stories to tell. Together the selection reveals a history that encompasses the world and yet retains a local focus.

This history of the world is told by BBC Radio Devon and Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM). It mirrors the BBC Radio 4 series, A History of the World in 100 Objects, narrated by Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum.

The exhibition runs from Saturday 24 July to Tuesday 7 September. The Guildhall is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm (closed bank holidays). Entry is free. Families can also enjoy associated family activity days at St Nicholas priory and Exeter Cathedral Chapter House.
