Plasterwork
Geoffrey Preston, a local sculptor and decorative plasterer with 20 years experience, is featured working on a new Rococo ceiling that he is designing for a house in Ireland. The piece will also feature in a 2012 plasterwork exhibition at RAMM.
Carver and statue repairer for the National Trust, Geoffrey became involved in plasterwork when he led the team of seven artists remodelling the five state room ceilings in Uppark House, West Sussex, after it burnt down in 1989. Projects since then have included a new house at Wedhampton, south of Devizes, Thornhill Park and the Rivoli Bar at the Ritz Hotel in London.
