Roger Taylor - Geologist
I am a geologist working part time on the museums collection of rock minerals and fossils. I also help to identify archaeological stone tools and analyse archaeological pottery both for the RAMM and the Royal Cornish Museum in Truro. I am a member of the South West Museums implement petrology committee.
How I ended up at the RAMM

Best part of my job
I enjoy meeting people, and particularly youngsters who bring things into the museum for me to look. It is also great fun to discover an interesting item that has become hidden in the museums collection over the years and its existence forgotten. e.g. the meteorite that is the oldest object in the collection.
What I like most about RAMM
There is so much to see and do. The fantastic variety of the museum’s collections is revealed in the new displays.
