How I ended up at RAMM
Well, career options are somewhat limited after studying archaeology at York. I drifted into museum work and since then I've been heading in a south-westerly direction arriving at Exeter via Sheffield, Birmingham and Cheltenham.
Best part of my job
That moment when the exhibition set up is finished and ready, but not yet open to the public. You get a rare chance to see it with nobody else around. Selfish I know, but truthful.
A funny thing happened...
Trying to explain to an enquirer that his Julius Caesar coin with the date 50 BC impressed on the reverse was a freebie from a petrol station not an original. You need to think about it.
What I'm looking forward to seeing/doing in the refurbished museum
Taking a great big, sigh of relief while gently sipping a glass of cool beer (at the opening I mean, not at my desk).
