James Richardson – Events Coordinator
How I ended up at RAMM
After working in advertising for five years, I left to pursue a dream of travelling around the world. Journeying extensively through thirty different countries over several years, I found myself inside remote Egyptian pyramids, gazing across the jungle from the summit of Mayan temples, living on floating reed islands on Lake Titicaca and performing a kava ceremony with a tradition Fijian community. Following such experiences I couldn’t resign myself to a standard desk job on my return home and soon found myself working with the Visitor Services team at RAMM.
I spent time working as a Museum Assistant before and after RAMM’s re-opening in 2011, as the receptionist and then as the Visitor Services Supervisor. I have recently joined the Audience Development Team as an Events Coordinator.
Best part of my job
The constant opportunity to learn new things, whether from museum displays, guest speakers, other staff or members of the public.
What I like most about RAMM
I love exploring the World Cultures and the Ancient History galleries. No matter how often I look in the cases I always find something new.
