Neil Heasman – Family Learning Officer
I plan, organise and often run all the family activity days along with liaising with other organisations to develop family and early years’ events.
How I ended up at RAMM
As a Primary School Teacher I wanted to use my heritage academic background more purposefully along with educating children in the manner I am convinced they learn and remember best i.e. kinaesthetically using objects and role play.
Best part of my job
Knowing the benefit of what I am doing for children is significant. Seeing the enjoyment on their faces and knowing many will want to return to RAMM because of their experience with us. Also, working with talented and friendly colleagues.
A funny thing happened…
The many funny things children say e.g. on asking a group of children if they could remember the name of the large (Tester) bed, a tentative hand was raised – ‘testacle bed!’ Well, she was close.
What I like best about RAMM
The sound of families interacting with each other through, and with, all that RAMM has to offer.
If you see me in the museum, ask me….
Anything at all and, importantly, please tell me your thoughts on the museum and suggest what we might do to improve your family visit.
