Adrian Bolt – Technical Support Officer
I get involved in the installation and preparation of exhibitions both in the museum and in other venues. This includes everything from painting walls to making bespoke mounts for the museums collection.
How I ended up at RAMM
After eight years in the private sector, I decided that money wasn’t everything and accepted a job at RAMM.
Best part of my job
Being creative and getting hands on with a huge range of interesting objects and materials.
A funny thing happened…
I remember opening up one of our other museum sites a couple of years ago, only to be confronted by two crows flying around and then I spent the rest of the morning trying to chase them out.
What I like most about RAMM
The Insects and the Birds gallery. I had a lot of input into the design and construction of these displays.
If you see me in the museum, ask me….
- Which object was the most difficult to install in the new displays?
- What was the heaviest object we had to move during the redisplay?
- How did I mount the fossilised elephant’s ribcage?
