Anne Amosford – Senior Conservator (Textiles)
Currently I am working on items of costume to display in the core wall change over. Textiles that are on display for too long can be affected by light and other elements and can look ‘tired’ so it is essential they are not out for too long. Another part of my work is preparing items when they are required for loan to other museums.
We have a large collection of costume and textiles in store which are undergoing repacking and assessment; a long term project requiring many volunteers and helpers.
Many students come here to conservation on placements so some of my time is spent supervising various projects that they are involved with.

I started my career in tapestry conservation at the Textile Conservation Centre in Hampton Court Palace then worked in private practice before moving to the V&A Museum. After many years working there, I and my family escaped to the country and RAMM.
