About the leaflet

About the leaflet

Now in its sixth year, the leaflet is open to all members of the Devon Museums Group. In 2010 there were 45 museums and galleries included. Each museum has its own page which includes a colour picture, opening times, admission costs and a brief description. 50,000 copies are distributed to museums, tourism centres and attractions throughout the county during the summer season. The eye-catching leaflets have proved very popular with participating museums and visitors alike. Westward Marketing, who distributed the leaflet in 2010, class it as top-end - one of the leaflets that fly off the shelves and need constant replacing.

The response from the 2010 questionnaire showed that 98% of readers found the leaflet useful and almost 75% found it very useful. On average visitors had been to 2.7 museums and over 90% intended to visit more.

Organised, compiled and designed by RAMM, the Museums in Devon leaflet was initially sponsored by Renaissance, the government’s groundbreaking investment in regional museums, to support accredited museums in Devon and those working actively towards accreditation. The leaflet is now financed by grants, sponsorship and payments by participating museums.
