A South West touring archaeology exhibition project 2009 - 2012

 

Treasures from the Earth was a touring exhibition and focus for activity about the archaeology of South West England and the many ways people can get involved in it. For three years (2009 to 2012) it toured museums in Devon, Somerset and Cornwall. 

 

 

The project was a partnership between Plymouth City Museum & Art Gallery, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and the Royal Cornwall Museum, and it was been supported the Heritage Lottery Fund and Renaissance in the Regions.

 

The team consisted of the following; Fiona Pitt, Jane Marley, Tom Cadbury (Curators of Archaeology at Plymouth City Museum, Royal Cornwall Museum & Royal Albert Memorial Museum, respectively), Barbara Wood (Project Manager – Application Phase), Vicky Dawson (Project Manager – Development & Implementation Phase), Alan Murray (Designer), Helena Jaeschke (Conservation Development Officer), Stephanie Clemens (Registrar, Royal Cornwall Museum), 13 host museums and 22 professional organisations and community groups.
