Wanted - Tour development team members
We are looking for volunteers with a broad knowledge of the arts, culture and history to help develop tours for the museum before it opens in December and then deliver those tours after we open. Full details below…
Main duties
- To spend time in the museum learning about it’s exhibits
- To work in a team to develop tours for the museum
- Helping visitors by providing information about the museum and exhibits
- Security and light housekeeping
- Assisting with special events
- Providing support to Front of House staff
Essential requirements for the role
- A broad interest in museum exhibits - We are looking for people willing to learn about quite varied exhibitions and convey that knowledge.
- Good People Skills - We are looking for people who can work well as a team and are sensitive to visitors’ needs, preferably people who can deliver information in an accessible manner regardless of the age or background of a visitor.
- Flexibility - We do need people who can be flexible about where they work on the site. We also need a certain amount of flexibility for rota cover.
- We ask you to commit at least one morning or afternoon a week.
