100,000 visit RAMM in 10 weeks

The number of people who have visited RAMM since it reopened in December exceeded 100,000 this afternoon (12.30 22nd February). Barbara Crowley from Dorset was RAMM’s 100,000th visitor. She received a special welcome from Museum Manager Camilla Hampshire and a goody bag of RAMM gifts as a memento of her visit.
Over 50,000 people visited RAMM in its first month and the 100,000th visitor today – an extraordinary number for a city of 119,600.
Cllr Greg Sheldon, Exeter City Council's Lead Councillor for Environment and Leisure, said "We are absolutely delighted that so many people are flocking into RAMM. It was well worth the wait and the reopening has come at a great time. Exeter is one of few cities nationally to maintain growth during the current crisis, bucking the national trends. RAMM is a wonderful symbol of the town’s vitality and can proudly take its place amongst the best museums in the country."
RAMM reopened on 15 December to near universal acclaim; 95% of visitors surveyed during the opening weeks thought the museum made a vital contribution to the quality of life in Exeter and the region, 98% found it friendly and welcoming to all and 96% thought it gives a great all round visitor experience. High quality, educational, family friendly and enlightening were the words most commonly used by visitors to describe the museum.
