Twelve Days of Christmas trail
Explore the museum with this object hunt inspired by the traditional carol The Twelve Days of Christmas. Trail leaflets are available from both Queen Street and Garden Receptions from Saturday 1 December, or you can view the trail online at RAMM Time Trail. The 12 days of Christmas is the festive Christian season running from Christmas day (25 Dec) to 5 January. This inspired the Christmas carol The Twelve Days of Christmas, a song that tells of a series of increasingly impressive gifts given on each of the twelve days of Christmas. Thought to be of French origin, the rhyme was first published in England around 1780 without music. The standard tune now associated with it is derived from an arrangement of a traditional folk melody by English composer Frederic Austin in 1909.
