Projects and Administration Officer
My role is to maintain and monitor the financial and administrative systems of the museum, including assisting with the analysis of budgets, funding and projects. This is a very varied role from overseeing accounts and the administration of external funding bids to liaising with budget holders and helping our talented staff with the financial aspects of museum exhibitions and projects.
How I ended up at RAMM
I worked as an administrator at the Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education, which is moving to Exmouth, and wanted to find a role at an Exeter location that was in an equally inspiring and motivating environment. I’ve always loved the museum, as one of the treasures of Exeter that is enjoyed by everyone across the community, of all ages. It’s a dream come true to work here.
Best part of my job
I love having a behind-the-scenes insight into this special place. I especially enjoy being part of a great team across the museum who work together to make this such a welcoming and wonderful venue for our visitors. In my role, I am able to get involved in the ‘nitty gritty’ or ‘nuts and bolts’ of ensuring the museum runs smoothly, from arranging funding for a historic watercolour painting and submitting grant applications based on our collections to ordering disco lights and flamingo costumes for visitors’ events! I also love seeing people of all ages enjoying their visits here.
