Help Save Ladysmith
Please help RAMM to save Ladysmith, an important painting too fragile to display, so that it can return to public view for the first time in decades. In Sight! Lord Dundonald’s Dash on Ladysmith depicts a young Winston Churchill in the Boer War.
The painting by Devon artist Lucy Kemp-Welch was completed in 1901 and purchased in 1908. Kemp-Welch was a trail blazer for women artists in her day. We hope to include the work in a special exhibition of women’s painting in 2018, RAMM’s 150th anniversary year. In order to do this, we need to raise £8,000 to conserve the painting and frame.
